Harriet Fox’s photographic project ‘Southampton Restored’ focused on photographing Southampton to portray how the Second World War had altered the city. Fox’s aim was to depict the effects of the war and the way in which the community rallied together to rebuild the destroyed areas, through investigating the extent of damage caused by Luftwaffe bombs dropped on the city and travelling to the significant locations that were struck. Fox was significantly influenced by Beth and Thom Atkinson.
