Good Boy

My final major project, Good Boy, was created to make people feel good. Five images that are generally displayed in a continuous row that show bursts of laughter, expressing a comical feel-good factor. Personally, when looking at portraits, I tend to reflect the emotion that is presented, and too often it is a mellow portrait that makes me question my happiness, or it is an overly airbrushed portrait that makes me feel awful about myself, creating a warped beauty standard. With my project, I want people to look at my images and laugh, because that is what my photographs are displaying, and it is showing a development of emotion that hopefully people will be able to feel themselves. I am tired of being reflected negativity, especially in recent portraits. So, I decided to produce something different, something that is not often seen, and something that will make people feel refreshed and excited.
