Reverie 

'Reverie' A state of being lost in one’s thoughts, a daydream. Reverie is a series of women in a collective state of daydream and is created from a woman’s perspective. Each person has fallen into the trance of their own thoughts, a moment that appears timeless; isolated from the world that continues around them. I focused on photographing my models mostly at eye level, positioning the viewer as an observer. We are intimate with the women, but without being invasive. The photos dwell on a moment of escapism, a ‘pause’ in the happenings of reality that surrounds us. I present reverie with a beauty and importance, transforming a small moment into something captured forever. My photographs draw upon a warm, cinematic style that depicts a dreamlike quality, reflecting the pleasant pastime of daydreaming. Some of my photographs take on a slightly more melancholic atmosphere, creating ambiguity across my project as the nature of the narrative in each photo does not always feel straightforward. Much of the narrative is left for the viewer to wonder, unlocking the door for different interpretations based on their own personal experience.
