David Drahota
David Drahota’s photographic project captures the dark atmosphere of abandoned places in his hometown in the Czech Republic. The buildings had been deserted for over thirty years but were built by soldiers of the former Soviet Union, who occupied the Czech Republic for a large part of the 20th century. Since what is referred to as the ‘Velvet Revolution’, when the Soviets were expelled from the country and the Soviet Union disintegrated, these places have remained uninhabited and dilapidated.
