Recollection

This project follows myself and my family travelling to four locations frequented heavily throughout my childhood – some I had not visited in several years. These are South-West Dorset, Portchester Castle, West Wittering, and Butser Hill. I aim to mimic the visual process humans go through when recalling memories by taking inspiration from the artistic styles of Impressionism and subsequent Pictorialism (hence the blurred and fragmented effects). Although bittersweet feelings did crop up, I was able to accept these feelings and gain a new and refreshed appreciation for these locations by being able to look at them with an artistic eye.
